Surface Preparation

Ensure that the surface is free from efflorescence before application. It should be free from oil, any loose dust particles, loose friable matters etc.
Surface cracks less than 5 mm must be filled with British Paints Crack-Fix Paste as per recommendation
Before application surface must be in Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition.

APPLICATION

Fresh Painting

Masonry surface needs to be fully cured before application and free from efflorescence.
Apply a single coat of British Paints Damp Control by brush without dilution with a forced coverage of 40-50 sq. ft. /Lt. Allow it to dry for 4-6 hrs.
• For a smooth finish of topcoat, apply two coats of British Paints Acrylic Wall Putty & Allow it to dry for 4-6 hours. Rub with sand per 320. Wipe to clean and apply top coat as per recommendation. B. Repainting/Renovation Surface in good condition:
Sand the surface with sand paper 180 and wipe it clean.
Apply a single coat of British Paints Damp Control by brush without dilution with a forced coverage of 40-50 sq. ft. /Lt. Allow it to dry for 4-6 hrs.
For a smooth finish of topcoat, apply 1 coat of British Paints Waterproofing Putty/British Paints Shield Wall Putty and apply top coat as per recommendation post drying.

Repainting/Renovation

Surface in good condition:

Sand the surface with sand paper 180 and wipe it clean.
Apply a single coat of British Paints Damp Control by brush without dilution with a forced coverage of 40-50 sq. ft. /Lt. Allow it to dry for 4-6 hrs.
For a smooth finish of topcoat, apply 1 coat of British Paints Waterproofing Putty/British Paints Shield Wall Putty and apply top coat as per recommendation post drying.

Surface in damaged condition

Remove the existing putty till plaster level in the affected areas covering an additional one ft. distance across all sides.
Ensure that the surface is free from efflorescence before application.
Surface cracks less than 5 mm must be filled with British Paints Crack-Fix Paste.
Apply a single coat of British Paints Damp Control by brush without dilution with a forced coverage of 40-50 sq. ft. /Lt. Allow it to dry for 4-6 hrs.
For a smooth finish of top coat, apply 1 coat of British Paints Waterproofing Putty/British Paints Shield Wall Putty and apply top coat as per recommendation post drying.
